Local college roundup: Drew University beats Stockton College in men’s lacrosse, 13-7
The Richard Stockton College lacrosse team fell six goals behind Drew University in the first 18 minutes of a 13-7 loss in Madison on Saturday.
Brent Effenberger scored three goals for Stockton (1-6). Matt Bologno added a goal and an assist. Ospreys goalie Tim Wolcott tied his career-high with 18 saves.
For Drew, Eric Tripp had three goals and one assist.
Stockton will travel to Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game.

Stockton track and field: The Ospreys’ Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Township H.S.) finished second in the javelin (38.61 meters) at the 16th annual season-opening Monmouth Invitational in West Long Branch.
The Ospreys finished second in the women’s 1,600-meter sprint medley in 4 minutes, 18.94 seconds. The team consisted of Meagan Simmons (Southern Regional), Gina Ridolfo (Vineland), Nikki Stratton and Robyn Evangelist (Mainland Regional).
For the Stockton men, Jim Codianni was fourth in the 10,000 meters (33:24.19), and Dillon Glasser (Atlantic County Institute of Technology) was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:17.99).
Stockton softball: The Ospreys’ scheduled softball game at Hunter College in New York was postponed. No makeup date was announced.
Cumberland County College baseball: The Dukes split a doubleheader with Union County College. In the error-filled first game, Cumberland lost 23-13. Luis Gomez (Vineland) and Javier Pepin each hit a double for the Dukes.
In the second game, starting pitcher John Earnst (Cumberland Regional) held Union to six hits in an 11-3 win. Dukes catcher Wilfredo Concepcion had four hits, including a double.
The Dukes will play a doubleheader at Northhampton Community College today at noon in Bethlehem, Pa.
Atlantic Cape Community College baseball: The Buccaneers split a doubleheader with Bergen Community College. Mike DeCicco went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in a 4-2 win in the first game. Adam Colon pitched a complete-game for the win, striking out four.
In the second game, Bergen’s Rafael Rivas went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to help beat the Buccaneers 8-0.
